The Printbar digital varnish application makes use of Xaar’s high laydown technology, which provides the ability to deposit large amounts of fluid in a single pass. A wide array of tactile effects and textures can be applied to labels to boost your ROI and productivity. Emulation of bespoke or specialised media can reduce costs, whilst tactile effects and symbols can be produced more efficiently.

MULTIPLE EFFECTS IN A SINGLE PASS

The key advantage to digitally applying varnish with FFEI’s Printbar is that multiple effects can be achieved in a single pass – whereas typically four or more screens would be required. The ‘label’ sample below demonstrates this digital varnish capability beautifully.

TEXTURES

Print highly complex patterns and textures onto labels and flexible packaging with digital varnish. In addition to substrate emulation the flexibility of digital enables the printing of a multitude of different patterns in the same run.  

TEXT

A digital spot varnish over text is an effective way to highlight key aspects of a label. With the ability to go down to 4pt text, you can make any element of your label standout with a high 3D effect and a great tactile feel.  

FLOOD COAT

High Laydown provides a whole new dimension to digital flood coating. With the ability to print 100 micron varnish, you can drastically change the appearance of a label, whilst boosting durability. 

SYMBOLS

Easily add symbols and markings (such as warning triangles) to labels and flexible packaging. High Laydown technology gives you the ability to print these elements directly onto your label in a single pass – reducing time and processes to your workflow.
