ENSURE PERFECT ALIGNMENT

Printbar’s Sync-to-Mark technology was developed to manage the issues encountered when digitally printing at high speed onto pre-printed material. It does this by dynamically tracking trends within the print run using standard sync marks. The digital image is then adjusted for web stretch fluctuations on the fly, ensuring a perfect alignment.

SYNCHRONISATION ACROSS SUBSTRATES

Printbar’s Sync-to-mark technology ensures a perfect fit between graphic elements printed digital-to-digital or flexo-to-digital. The technology works well across a very broad range of media including unsupported thin films, often prone to distortion when put under tension.

HOW IT WORKS

Printbar’s workflow software dynamically tracks pre-printed sync marks and automatically adjusts the digital image to fit the desired pre-printed target. To ensure alignment, you simply need to follow these 3 simple steps:-

Step 1 – Add sync mark to the label file. If Printbar is to print over pre-printed material the sync mark needs to be added onto this artwork. If the Printbar varnish/white is to be overprinted then the sync mark can be added during prepress or done on the fly when printing.

Step 2 – Once you are ready to embellish pre-printed material a special sensor on the Printbar picks up the sync mark and automatically adjusts to print in the correct area.

Step 3 (optional) – You also have the option to override automatic sync and manually adjust to suit using HMI on the press.
