TURNING THE CONCEPT INTO A WORKING INNOVATION
At this stage we transform the ideas into 3D CAD designs and working prototypes. Our manufacturing unit is collocated with R&D at The Cube, Hemel Hempstead, UK, which means we have all the skills and equipment available to build test rigs and review. This approach means we are able to validate key components and design elements whilst identifying areas that can be enhanced. This due diligence ensures the final design can be manufactured efficiently – an innovation is only valuable if it can be manufactured easily, cost effectively and reliably.
REGULAR REVIEWS TO ENSURE QUALITY & PROGRESS
The project milestone reviews occur at the end of each phase and in some cases at critical points during a phase of the NPI. The reviews provide a forum for the cross-functional core team to comprehensively assess progress, identify issues and risks and present recommendations.
